The Ophthalmology Clinic in Gävle is part of the ophthalmology department and provides both urgent and planned eye care with outpatient and surgical services as well as vision rehabilitation. We are about 50 employees working together in modern facilities on the hospital grounds in Gävle. Here, doctors, ophthalmic nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, optometrists, orthoptists, and medical secretaries collaborate to provide the best possible care for patients. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you will have a stimulating and varied job in both outpatient and emergency flow as well as surgical services. The work is diverse and takes place in close collaboration with several professionals in the team. You will work daytime, Monday to Friday, in a modern and technologically advanced environment with engaged colleagues. Main Responsibilities

• perform preparatory examinations before patient visits to the doctor
• work in the acute patient flow at the clinic
• prepare patients in our injection service
• perform vision tests, eye pressure measurements, visual field examinations, biometry, and OCT
• prepare patients for and take care of them after surgery
• provide advice and participate in digital work via Min vård Gävleborg and 1177
• conduct your own clinic for different patient groups.

As a nurse, you will grow in your role and after a while have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities with:

• conducting your own clinic for different patient groups
• telephone advice
• assisting ophthalmic nurses during angiography.

If you are a specialist-trained ophthalmic nurse, in addition to the above tasks, you will also:

• assess and plan care based on the patient's needs
• work in the operating room and assist doctors during procedures
• perform injections, fundus photography, and angiography.

• a licensed nurse

It is an advantage if you are already a specialist-trained ophthalmic nurse or have experience in ophthalmic care or outpatient services.
